Steve Silverstein Biography
Steve Silverstein, the drummer in The Matt Savage Trio, has a B.A. from UMass-Amherst
and an M.B.A. from Babson College. He began drum studies at the age of 8 and
studied privately at The Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA from the age of
13-15 with Keith Copeland. He performed in ensembles led by Max Roach and Archie
Shepp at UMass-Amherst. Steve was a drumset instructor in the Jazz Dept. at the
University of North Florida, Jacksonville from 1992-1998. He has performed in
the U.S. and abroad with Carmen Bradford, Harry Allen, Bunky Green, Marcus
