"One is Not Fun, but 20 is Plenty"

Also check out some of the poems and art from the CD

Matthew Savage was just seven and one-half years old at the time of this recording.  He began taking classical piano one year previously with an instructor in his home town.  Matthew enjoyed improvisation so much we enrolled him in the jazz program at the New England Conservatory of Music in the fall of 1999.  He also enjoys math, reading and games.

Eyran Katsenelenbogen is a piano instructor at the New England Conservatory of Music.  He is Matthew's jazz/improv teacher, and an accomplished performer.  Eyran performs seven new, original compositions for this benefit project.

 Acknowledgements -
There are so many people who contributed to making this CD possible.  I’d like to thank each and every one of them.  I hope I don’t forget anyone.  Please forgive me if I do.

First of all, my husband, Larry – without his support, this project never would have happened.  Next, my good friend Eyran Katsenelenbogen.  He helped me bring the idea into reality.  Special thanks to my cousin, Deborah Maris Lader ,  Director of the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative.  She also has a son with autism.  Deborah is an advocate for education and providing opportunities for persons with autism.  She donated the cover art for this CD.  Many thanks also to ECAROH MUSIC, INC. and Horace Silver for allowing the use of  “Song for my Father”.

Lots of people donated their time, energy, and services to help make this CD.

Blue Jay Recording Studio, Joe Miraglilo at A-Wave Studios, Oasis CD and Cassette Duplication, Dave Adams at Adams Design Associates, and Nelson Bogart.  Thanks also to Brooks Williams for helping guide me through the music maze.

Last but not least, thanks to my son, Matthew, for inspiring me to create this CD in the first place.  I am so proud of all he’s done.
